Expect Raw and Swirling Blues/Dub/Slide guitar. Soulful vocals held together by a dynamic rhythm both intricate and with an irresistible groove guaranteed to make you move.
A lively set packed full of original material and reinterpretations of some of reggae music’s biggest dance floor shakers. Datura burst onto the live south-west circuit in 2015 building a reputation for their energetic and passionate live performances.
We believe in the fundamental goodness of all people. We want to empower that goodness by singing the songs that inspire us to break free of the corporate reality and create the world we really want,” says Theo. “Right now, that means taking personal responsibility for climate change and forcing change at a national and global level, as well as making our own lives more sustainable.
“Lyrics and music so penetrating, haunting, witty and clever, that after one listening they simply take up residence in your brain and make you feel as if they’ve always been there. Exciting, inspiring and empowering…We recommend that you go and see this band at any opportunity. They are brilliant live and have huge energy and presence on stage.” ~ Permaculture Magazine

Vojta is a multi-instrumentalist traveling the world, and gathering inspiration along the way. He started to play violin when he was young, but his devoted journey with music began two years ago when he came to New Zealand and decided to fully trust and follow the music path. It was during this time that he joined a band called Mad Hallelujah Tribe (madhallelujah.com). His solo act is a simultaneous combination of violin live-looping, tribal rhythms, and didgeridoo.
