To change something, build a new model which makes the existing one obsolete.

We’re delighted to confirm the return of the Off Grid College in 2014, a four day course in practical sustainability and appropriate technology.
This 12 module course is designed to empower individuals and build capacity for enhancing our daily experience of both local abundance and global sustainability. In 2014 this unique weekend-long programme has been designed and self-organised in collaboration with Shift Bristol, hand-crafted to integrate the South West’s most experienced growers and builders, ecologists and engineers.
Beyond this 12 module programme, the Off Grid College will provide a more physical demonstration of eco build techniques and appropriate technology installations, hosted within our Tin Village; a multi-venue, low impact events infrastructure designed and built in collaboration with the Building Man Coop and Tangentfield.
Additional learning spaces will include our Plotting Shed – a talks space designed to encourage participation and build capacity for community activism hosted by STIR to action magazine and the People’s Assembly – our Maker-space workshop and tool library for practical make-your-own demonstrations and the brand new Off Grid Apothecary; a natural remedies and home-brewing production unit integrated within a self-catering field kitchen featuring rocket stoves and cob oven.
