CASH MACHINE AND PHONE CHARGING

We do NOT have a cash point. However…Exeter Pounds will be operating the Citizens Mint where you will be able to use your debit card to withdraw the local currency instead which will be useable with all traders onsite and with the same value as sterling.

Phone Charging will be available at the site shop and info point. Exeter does have cash machines, just a mile or so away.

ONSITE CURRENCY

We will be using the Exeter Pound as the main onsite currency for use at food and drink traders, therapists and others across the site. You can find out more here and via this Google Doc.

TOBACCO

There will be NO provision of tobacco on site. Please consider how much tobacco you’re likely to need carefully before you arrive at Off Grid.

ALCOHOL

Guests may bring a personal provision of up to 6 cans of beer, 2 bottles of wine or 1 bottle of spirits on site. Any additional alcohol will be removed or access to the site will be denied. NO glass of any type will be permitted on site.

There is bar onsite that will operate from lunchtime until late each day selling local ale and cider, ethical wines and amazing home-made foraged cocktails!!

Please support our bar. It helps ensure the event is viable to run, this year and forward.

ILLEGAL DRUGS

Buying, selling or consuming of any illegal substances on our site will result in immediate confiscation and ejection. Please DO NOT bring NO2 chargers and dispensers, which will also be removed immediately once identified.

CAR PARKING

Any car parked on site will be charged a £15 parking fee. Caravans and ‘live in’ vehicles will be charged a £25 parking / camping fee.

CAMPING

Please camp in the areas suggested, according to whether you own a campervan, have a family, or whether you’re artist or crew. All camping areas will have excellent access to toilets, water and fire buckets and will be monitored 24 hours by our stewards and security teams. All campers must be offsite by 12pm on Monday 15 August.

We also have 3 x sets of 2 person-tents, sleeping bags and camping mats available via Camplight. These sets are available at £75, fully set-up for you on your arrival. Please email [email protected] if you are interested in this option.

DISABILITIES

People with disabilities and limited mobility will be included in every way possible. Disabled toilets will be provided. Saying this, the event takes place in a green field with a mixed topography. Areas can get muddy and trackways are limited. Vehicles belonging to those with Blue Badges or else on the middle- or higher-element of Disabled Living Allowance or equivalent will be admitted without charge. This includes Live-In Vehicles. Contact Bristol Ticket Shop if you require a complimentary carer pass. Some evidence of benefits will be required.

CAMP FIRES

Please do not attempt to light fires on our camping site. Communal fires will be provided and well stocked with fire wood in a variety of locations around our main site.

TOILETS

Our toilets are compost loos which will be regularly maintained. There will be several disabled units onsite as well, which will not be compost unfortunately.

WATER

Drinking water can be found at various points around the site, provided by a private borehole, and will be clearly marked. As this is a borehole supply, there may be points where it is in heavy use and thus runs slower, please be patient. Please reuse plastic bottles and ensure taps are firmly closed after use.

HOT SHOWERS

There will be access to hot wood and solar thermal showers on site. These will operate at different points in the day TBC. Showers will be charged at £2 per time.

LUXURY CAMPING

If you’re not up for roughing it in a tent, we can offer some alternative accommodation options. Details of these will follow shortly. In the meantime, please email [email protected]

MEDICS

Medics will be on duty throughout the festival operating from our first aid tent. There will also be a welfare team based here.

FIRE

Fire points will be clearly marked around the site. Should you spot a fire or suspect a hazard, please alert a steward immediately.

FLY-PITCHING

We positively encourage fly-pitching, believing it brings life and color to the event, as well as encouraging personal economic sustainability. There is a charge of £10 per day for fly-pitchers. We’d really appreciate you not quibbling over this small amount! Fly-pitching is limited to blanket stalls.

LOST PROPERTY

A lost and found service will operate from the information point, with valuable items stored safely in a secure location.

STEWARDING

Festivals operate only thanks to the diligent work of its stewards. At Off-Grid, most stewards are recruited from you, the ticket holders of the event. See section on Volunteering below

Stewards will be fully briefed to improve all of our experience of Off Grid at all times.

You can also sign up for volunteering in advance via the Volunteering Page of our website.

SECURITY

Off Grid’s security team is professional, amicable and reasonable. However, any attempt to access our site without permission – or any observation of anti-social behaviour of any kind – will result in immediate ejection.

VOLUNTEERING

There will be opportunities onsite to volunteer your time as part of either the stewarding teams, litter and recycling crew, kitchen crew or other roles as required. A volunteer manager will be present at all meal-times in the Field Canteen with information on signing up for shifts. There will also be opportunities to do so via the info point/shop. We encourage everybody, ticket holder or invited participant to take part in volunteering shifts at the event. Its a big part of what Off-Grid is about!

If you are short of funds and wish to sign up in advance to volunteer for Off-Grid, please do so via our Volunteering Page on the website.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

RESPECT THE LAND:

ANIMALS inc. DOGS

Please do not feed farm animals without permission. Please DO NOT bring your own animals on site including dogs.

COMMUNITY

Be aware that tent thieves can operate at even the smallest and most community focused of festivals. However, they won’t enjoy any success if campers are vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour immediately to your nearest steward point. Regular patrols will minimise this risk, but there’s no substitute for shared responsibility. We believe in self-policing as a community and as such encourage members of the community to work together to peacefully settle disputes. However, where this is not possible, please tell the nearest steward or report situations to the production office or info point and we will do our best to resolve any tensions or issues.

WASTE

Please bring your own re-usable plate / bowl and cutlery to Off Grid. Your willingness to help us reduce our on site waste will be rewarded with cheaper meals. Recycling points will be distributed around the site and bags for separating waste given to campers for your own use.
