Directions to Off-Grid 2016

at the Biophilia Project, Goffin Land, Exeter, Devon

Goffin Land is just above Pinhoe, Exeter. The northern access is Church Hill, Exeter, EX4 9JL. When coming from Exeter use Stoke Hill until you reach Stoke Post - turn right - signposted to Pinhoe.

Gate entry times for the event are as follows unless otherwise arranged:-

  • Thursday 11th August: 1400 - 2100hrs
  • Friday 12th August: 0900 - 2100hrs
  • Saturday 13th August: 0900 - 2000hrs
  • Sunday 14th August: 0900 - 1600hrs

Note: Festival gates open at 1400hrs on Thursday 11th August. Anybody arriving before this point will be turned away.

Cycling: If you wish to cycle to the event check out the Sustrans map page (http://www.sustrans.org.uk/), entering EX4 9JL in the ‘Search Our Mapping’ box.

We’re really keen to encourage cycling, so please note that anybody arriving by bike will be rewarded with a free meals pass and drinks token upon arrival! A bicycle lock-up will be provided for your use.

Public Transport: Head for Exeter if you are coming by public transport. The nearest mainline railway station is Exeter St Davids, only 3.7 miles from the site. The nearest small railway station is Pinhoe, only 2 miles from the site. Pinhoe station has no taxi rank or cab office. According to national rail advance booking is essential, and they suggest local these local taxi services:

The J, K and T buses go from near Pinhoe station on Causey Lane to bottom of Church Hill but it is better to get a taxi.

Alternatively from Exeter, share a taxi to Off Grid. Exeter has a variety of friendly taxi drivers but if you want to travel in a low carbon taxi, Apple taxis is situated outside Exeter St Davids station, they have a fleet of 39 hybrid vehicles. They are very popular taxi company in Exeter so it is advised to book in advance for Apple Taxi details see http://appletaxisexeter.co.uk/ taxi from Exeter.

For public transport details to Exeter please look at https://www.journeydevon.info/

Driving to the site: If you use sat nav or a mapping service like Google Maps (https://maps.google.co.uk/) enter the postcode EX4 9JL. If you are travelling to the site on the M5 the closest junction is J30.

If you look on Google Maps with that post code you will see a drive running south off Church Hill - sometimes to Udder House, which is now called Goffin Farm - or you may see Mid Devon Chilli Farm, it depends on the browser etc. *Caution for sat nav users, the postcode EX4 9JL will take you to Goffin Farm House a complex of luxury homes.

Meeting point: At the entrance on Church Hill there is a gate to turn left into the carpark where you will be greeted by our friendly Gate Team.

If you are driving from the local area please be considerate and avoid taking shortcuts through local towns and villages, we would like to avoid causing disruption and congestion to local people.

Car Share: Please share cars with your mates. You can do this through a car sharing website or via our Facebook Event Page, remember this is a Green event!
