Come along to a solution focussed drop in session to discuss as a group our event sustainability problems and work together to reach positive solutions. Facilitated by Russ Spollin, sustainability practitioner specialising in festivals and community events.
Russ will also share his experiences working in sustainability management, waste and recycling, sanitation systems, and community organising, showcasing some of the pioneering things that are happening in the wonderful world of festivals and community events.
Russ Spollin
Russ Spollin works with festivals, community events and social enterprises to help them improve their environmental, social and economic performance.
His sustainability journey began as a workplace union environment representative and has taken him many wonderful places, including deep down compost toilets and high atop mountains of recycling.
He has worked with The Environment Agency, The International Permaculture Convergence, Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts, Shambala Festival, BoomTown Fair and many more.
As a sustainability practitioner specialising in events he has experience in waste and recycling, sanitation and humanure, system thinking, change management, project management, stakeholder engagement, community organising, and permaculture design.
