‘I have been working as a professional smith for the best part of 30 years and my family have been smiths since 1550, I travel to shows and fairs to demonstrate the tools and techniques of hand forging in a traditional way that uses only hand power to produce a wide variety of items, in wrought iron, steel, copper, and stainless steel, and will run workshops in weaving at the event if you would like as well as the demonstrations, at home I live off grid on the zero miles project’ ~ Dean Agget

I live off grid, and provide a large amount of the things needed for everyday living on site, including food water power, fuel, basic materials for spinning weaving and cloth manufacture by hand, growing willow and making basketwork, growing copising trees to make the charcoal for the forge to repurpose redundant metal objects into tools and utensils, alternative power creation and storage solutions, and can discus any aspects with anyone that is interested in how I do any of it.
