When we asked our Off Grid Festival-goers to tell us about their favourite moments, there were no real surprises. What we behind the scenes like about this festival is the same as you, but still, it was good to hear it out loud. We also asked you to tell us what we could do better and here is where the responses get interesting, because we’re always wanting to improve the experience - not just for ourselves, but for the speakers, stall holders, performers and those giving workshops.
So here are a few of your favourite moments and then some ideas for how we can do it different next year. You can add your comments below, or go to our Facebook page and talk to us there. We’re always glad to hear from you!
Ewa Z : Best thing is that it had a purpose and served it well. We enjoyed crafts and sharing joy, inspiration and encouragement with people. The size is perfect.
John Thompson : I thought it was a really good gathering with some great speakers and an amazing collective effort.
Hazel Davies : It was wonderful. Cider in the bar was great. I especially loved the kiln building, scrap metal jewelry and haiku workshops. The food was fantastic and great value for money. Campsite was great, lovely to not have to lug everything a great distance from the car too.
Simon Greenwood : It was wonderful really enjoyable; good music, very good food in the end! Great talks workshops. I left informed and enthused! See you all next year!
Amelia Jane : My favourite festival of the year (again) - thank you to everyone involved. ……It would be great if ‘we’ could organise other events between now and next year to help people stay connected and supported? x
This last comment from Amelia-Jane is particularly interesting for those who’d like to have a few off-season meet-ups “to keep us connected and supported.” We think this is a great idea and welcome some more thoughts about what, when, who, how…here are a few more of your suggestions…
…Showers!
…Some workshops on how to set up goals and achieve them, motivation, planning, organising, believing in success, self-esteem, overcoming anger, fear, obstacles…There were many people who would benefit from this kind of workshops.
A bit more yoga and meditation. A few more activities running later in the afternoon would be great as it tended to get quieter after 4.
..More cafes as a second option for meals. (Sometimes you just want a cooked breakfast!)
…More undercover things going on for the younger ones….
