We’re delighted to announce that there is an opportunity to relaunch Off-Grid in 2016 on a new site in Devon. The site is an 100-acre community land project close to the border with Somerset. The opportunity is to develop a long-term relationship with the venue, with the Off-Grid community able to stage multiple summer events and contribute to the development of the site and project over an extended period. We have an opportunity to stage a 300 person camp/gathering in August and two smaller related events if desired/dreamed of.
Off-Grid has always been an amazing, radical camp of change makers. We want to keep it that way, and develop that further, exploring deeper into ideas and innovations in the realms of community organisation, new economics, new politics, permaculture and more.
What we need to make this happen is some new energy from co-organisers to make this all possible. This means some people (at least 2) stepping forward and taking on responsibility of making the event/s happen in 2016, helping shape the concepts behind them; design them; communicate them and deliver them. As co-organisers, you also become co-responsible for all this which also means working without the guarantee of direct financial reward. Off-Grid has always worked financially but cannot guarantee wages to its core organisers at this point, especially given the size of the event/s and the move to a new site.
Do you think you might be able to step into this role and help co-organise this Gathering? Do you think you can build on the events of the past and create something equally special?
If so, please get in touch via info@offgrid-festival.co.uk and let us know how you could contribute.
